Courtesy of the threatened tube strike and a great weekend busily directing in Stratford upon Avon, my week has begun surrounded by royalty. Firstly I was privileged to be part of the EBU Directing team who ran this year's
Schapiro Spring Fours teams event. Secondly, I happen to live in England's newest city, but one of its oldest towns - or so I learned as we listened to the Service from the Cathedral grounds on the day the Queen comes to visit.
When I woke up this morning I never imagined, just dreamed, that I would get in touching distance of the Queen and make eye contact. I wonder if Frances Hinden never imagined this either. This hand is from the semi-finals match between Hinden and Allfrey. Wow!
